Hair Journey Chronicles | How to dry your hair!

Drying your hair:
The best way is whatever requires the least manipulation of the hairin it's most fragile state - WET!
  1. DO dab the hair gently with a towel or a t-shirt.
  2. DON'T rub it vigorously.
  3. DO apply leave-in conditioners and seal this with an oil of your choice (unrefined coconut oil is my favourite).
  4. DON'T start yanking through your lengths with a hairdryer and it's PIK attachment. That's breakage! That direct heat is also damaging to your hair.
  5. DO allow your hair to airdry: in a ponytail, a few loose braids, hanging loose, in a rollerset or a wet wrap.
  6. After a rollerset or other airdrying method, you can style into a protective style that will protect your ends (the oldest parts of your hair) from dryness (its enemy). But more on that later!
  7. If you must blowdry, try letting your hair air-dry to 75-80% dry before finishing it up!
  8. Limit your use of heated appliances.....to special occasions. Once a week may be way too much - ttry once a month or less. Mix in other no-heat styling options in between. Your ends will thank you!
