Yes! ........12 months Post-relaxer

Picture
Yes, you read that right! It's been 12 months since my last relaxer.

1 year into my transition! And I'm still having fun! To be honest, once I was past 6 months, the time just flew by!

So my pearls of wisdom so far in my transition:
  1. Just DO it! If you want to transition and you've read up on it...go for it! No time like the present.
  2. Don't expect to have perfect hair everyday. That's just crazy....try for the low maintenance, chic look.
  3. Mix it up a little. So use braids, twists, weaves, wigs and other low manipulation or protective styles to help you through. I'm currently in kinky twists.
  4. Get to know your Youtube! Those lovely naturals will be a great source of inspiration and explanation.
  5. Try some new styles: like I did with the curly fro and crochet braids.
Now that's enought of that! Time to hit the hay. Another year to go before I even look at a pair of scissors seriously.

Laters!

    Hey there!
I'm Lola - a hair obsessed doctor who stumbled into running long distances and baking all the cupcakes.

I blog about life, running and of course, hair! I'm an Altra "Team Red" Sponsored Athlete, so I will do the occasional running shoe or gadget review.
