Summer hair | Products and Styling

After a very protracted hair washing session lasting two days, I've come to a decision.
"No more hair butters unless I'm planning on wearing a stretched 'out' style or going to wash it really soon".

Why?

Well, I whipped up some hair butters on Friday night and got a little carried away whilst putting  them on my already twisted week-old twists.  The fallout: gunky hair that did not get clean after a baking soda and conditioner wash. No change with ACV rinse either!
I just went out to the shop and bought some clarifying shampoo by herbal essences. Yes, I said shampoo! (shock, horror, screams!) I also got some Hello Hydration (HH) Conditioner whilst I was at it as I was almost out of conditioner.

So I lathered up (in big twists) and rinsed twice. My hair was squeaky clean but ridiculously dry!!! I just massaged in some HH conditioner and left it on overnight under a shower cap and bonnet.

My hair was soft and tangle-free this morning!

I've learned my lessons:
  1. Don't mess with the butters in your hair! Maybe just on my body for now!
  2. Clarify every month (I'll be trying out the Rhassoul clay).
